Located about 3hours from Mongar, Lhuentse is home to many sacred Buddhist sites of Guru Padmasambava. One of the largest statues of Guru Padmasambava was built in the region by a renowned lama, late Khenpo Karpo as he envisioned. Apart from religious sites, the women of Khoma village in Lhuentse are well-known for their weaving skills; especially intricate patterns known as ‘Kishuthara’.
Lhuntse Dzong: A special dzong in Bhutan as it is the ancestral home of the Wangchuck Dynasty.
Khoma Village: A small village with a cluster of traditional houses.
Takila (Statue of Guru Rinpoche): A 154ft statue of Guru surrounded by 108 stupas located in Takila
Singye Dzong: A sacred site of Guru Rinpoche known located at an altitude of 3000m. It is a three days walk from Khoma village and a day’s walk to three sacred lakes (Tshokar, Tshona, and Terda Lhatsho) from Singye Dzong.
